Nivolet high school under the natural light

Advertorial Bluetek

Technical high school Nivolet is located in La Ravoire, near Chambéry and is a 25,000m ² school from the sixties and welcome approximatively 600 students. Since 2015, all buildings are being renovated to offer new thermal, functional and architectural standards designed by the architects Palloix et Rosset, project manager.

The last construction phase will be finalized in 2019, but the roof is already finished with new vaults and skylights replacing old polyester elements. Tissot, company specialized in cladding and tightness work and in charge of the roofing, water tightness and skylights work package has been in charge of renovating full sections of the roof, including the removal of existing vaults and installation of a dry – isolated and waterproofed – roof.

The new skylights are all equipped with a 20mm alveolar polycarbonate infills and 7 Pearl technology partitions which was chosen by the architects to enhance the living rooms with an aesthetic performance thanks to the microbeads sparkling effect but also to improve the Bluesteel RPT acoustic performance. All skylights are with thermal broken profiles and equipped with a sunshade screen.

The Screen-Dome, here longitudinal, dissociated from the building’s window partitions on the exterior gives the building a nice design but also removes the direct sunrays effects while protecting from the sun during the summer and letting in the natural heat in winter. One NSHEV with PCA Pearl Inside infill and Screen-Dome solar factor is 0,12.

Currently, there are 79 Bluesteel RPT Fix skylights, with 70 of special dimensions 820 X 2900 mm, 25 Bluesteel RPT Pneu NSHEV of dimensions from 1100 X 1100 mm to 1500 X 1500 mm, 18 Bluevoûte RPT Fix with 14 of special dimensions 2600 X 32000 mm and 1 Bluesteel Pass for roof access. All devices have upstand with height varying depending on their localization, with white lacquer on the inside and 1,200 Joules griddle.

Parts of the constructions have been opened in March 2017. In 2018, students and teachers will be able to follow up with the evolution of the building and benefit from improved comfort and natural lighting conditions; Even the neighbors will enjoy the design of the high school. In this project, security, comfort and aesthetics are all complying with the HQE label requirements.
