The ForMóbile exhibition for suppliers of the Brazilian furniture industry took place in São Paulo at the end of July.
The highlights were:
Acrylic Day: A series of lectures about acrylic demonstrated the properties of acrylic sheets, bonding techniques and how furniture can be made more varied and desirable when using this material. Among the speakers were representatives of entities like the National Institute for the Development of Acrylic, manufacturers CastCril and Sinteglas and acrylic shaping machines manufacturers VP Máquinas and Engraver.
Marcelo Rosenbaum and Masisa: The well-known architect in conjunction with retailer Oppa displayed furniture made with special MDF sheets with innovative textures specially developed by the Brazilian firm Masisa, one of the global leaders in MDF and MDP manufacturing. See features article.
Hybrid furniture: With urban apartments becoming smaller and smaller, the demand for multi-functional furniture is on the increase. Accessories and hardware (such as hinges, locks and slides) and other creative solutions for woodworkers were presented by exhibitors such as Häfele, Grupo Bigfer, Blum and Gold News and Eclisse.
