NEW CHILEWICH CONTRACT COLLECTION | STRIPE

Stripe displays a carefully planned sequence of colors that appears to look like a random stripe. However, the rotation is very deliberate and the overall effect, while appearing tonal, is in fact created with nine individual colors.

Stripe is available in three colors – Silver Grey, Gemstone, and Earth – in wall-to-wall (w2w) flooring, tile flooring, custom floor mats and wall textiles.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEVELOPMENTS

Chilewich is continuously improving our products and how they are made. We are constantly looking at new chemistries and technology to make them more sustainable. We challenge ourselves and our suppliers to keep pace with the change that is expected of us by the design community.

TERRASTRAND™

A significant new environmental development for Chilewich is the substitution of petroleum-based plasticizers in Chilewich yarns for phthalate free, renewable vegetable compounds. Plasticizers have traditionally been made from petroleum-based compounds and are used to make PVC yarns soft. No more. We call this innovative new yarn and the fabrics made from them, TerraStrand™.

BIOFELT®

BioFelt is a PVC-free tile backing system developed by Chilewich that works with all of our signature fabrics. The backing is made from recycled water bottles, renewable vegetable compounds, as well as post-industrial materials. The total recycled content of the tile (including TerraStrand™ fabric and BioFelt backing) exceeds 55% and can contribute to achieving certifications in environmental stewardship programs worldwide.

GREENGUARD®

Chilewich''s Upholstery fabrics are covered by the internationally recognized GreenGuard program certified by The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute. This certification is also recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council and therefore our Upholstery fabrics also earn LEED points.

MICROBAN®

Chilewich Contract products contain Microban. Microban antimicrobial protection works continuously for the lifetime of the product to inhibit the growth of stain and odor-causing bacteria, mold and mildew. Microban protection is ideal for any healthcare, hospitality, home or office environment where mold and mildew are a concern.
