CLIVET CELEBRATE 25 YEARS OF SUSTAINABLE COMFORT WITH TWO INNOVATION AWARDS

The company''s continuous focus on innovation is aimed at achieving sustainable comfort and it has been rewarded with several commendations from universities and environmental associations, including the prestigious Premio per l''innovazione Amica dell''Ambiente, received in 2013 from Legambiente, for two installations equipped with Clivet heat pump systems:

- The Nosedo water treatment plant, Milan''s largest and most important waste water treatment facility, processes 150 million cubic metres of waste water each year. The recycled water is used as a geothermal well, and together with the Clivet water-to-water heat pump units provides the heating and cooling reducing energy consumption of 50% each year compared to the previous plant.

- Cenni di Cambiamento development—a 17,000 m2 residential complex, the largest of its kind in Europe, built with sustainability at the heart of the design—consists of 4 Class A residential buildings with a total of 124 apartments, served from a centralised system. Comfort is guaranteed by using the ELFOSystem by Clivet, which comprises of:

- 5 ZEPHIR3 Heat Recovery Ventilation units

Besides recovering the energy contained in the extracted air, the special ZEPHIR3 HRV units exploit the heat pump technology to adjust the temperature of the air introduced during the heating and cooling phases, which enhances the system''s overall efficiency. Furthermore, during spring and autumn they provide free cooling without having to initiate the heat pump system, resulting in superior comfort at a very limited cost.

2 ELFOEnergy Ground Medium heat pumps, which cover the heating, cooling and domestic hot water requirements. They exploit ground water as a favourable heat source for heating, cooling, air conditioning and domestic hot water production, with substantial energy savings.
