DICKSON® SELECTED FOR 5.5 DESIGN STUDIO EXHIBITION “DESIGN ON THE BEACH”

Inspired by the architecture of French coastal resort La Grande Motte, the 5.5 design studio has created a collection that takes a fresh approach to iconic seaside objects.

The studio called on the expertise of the world’s leading designer of outdoor textiles, Dickson®, to collaborate on the creation of two of these objects. In 2017, La Grande Motte invited the 5.5 design studio to share its vision of the resort. Driven by the same founding spirit as this architectural work, these designers take a committed, bold and accessible approach to their creations.

Beach pyramids

Designed for use on the beach, these sunshades made from Orchestra fabric by Dickson® echo the resort’s architectural pyramids. Canopies decorated with cut-out modenature shapes, these sunshades blend light and shadow by projecting the outline of the resort’s buildings onto the sand

Acapulco backrests

Planted in the sand, these comfortable backrests bring you closer to the elements. Inspired by the Acapulco building’s geometric modenatures, these beach backrests in Orchestra fabric by Dickson® offer a handy alternative to the deckchairs now gaining ground on beaches along the coast.
