Gira surface-mounted video home station 7

Exclusive access control

Security within your own home is a basic requirement. Modern door communication systems with video function provide an enormous benefit in terms of security. The new Gira surface-mounted video home station 7 with its 7-inch TFT touch display is powerful and visually appealing.

The new Gira surface-mounted video home station 7 combines living comfort with security, and cannot fail to impress with its puristic design. It is offered in two colour variants, each with a matching glass surface: Pure white glossy with white glass and black matt with black glass. Both variants can be integrated harmoniously into any living environment or office situation. The external dimensions of the device are 123 mm x 181 mm x 21 mm.

The 7-inch (17.78 cm) touch display with its homogeneous glass front matches the device's elegant appearance. In addition to its quality, the home station's high-resolution TFT monitor also offers a wide field of vision delivering excellent image quality – even when viewed at an angle, and for big and small users alike. The display switches on automatically as soon as someone rings the doorbell. Alternatively, it can be manually activated or deactivated using hotkeys.

The surface-mounted video home station 7 can be conveniently operated and set via the generous display, using an intuitive menu. Favourite functions can be defined by users themselves in the start screen, so that swift operation is guaranteed. In addition, "one-touch buttons" are available under the screen, which can enable lights to be switched on or the door to be opened, for example, even when the display is not switched on. The one-touch buttons can also be used for signalling, for example regarding missed visitors, ringtone deactivation, or the system status. Features such as image memory, internal calls and freely selectable switching actions are naturally included in the range of functions, as with the Gira surface-mounted video home station Plus, which is already on the market.

A new feature of the surface-mounted video home station 7 is its provision of tactile feedback in the form of vibration during full touch operation – similarly to today's smartphones – which particularly assists people with visual or hearing impairments. Another impressive attribute besides the image quality is the high speech quality of the device's speakerphone function.

The Gira surface-mounted video home station 7 can be fixed to the wall via surface-mounted installation, or placed on furniture using the base, for example in the reception area in surgeries, or on a desk in an office. As a result, it is not only suitable for new builds, but is also ideal for conversions or retrofits in combination with the Gira DCS 2-wire bus system. When mounted on the wall, it has a profile height of only 24 mm.

Up to 28 Gira surface-mounted video home station 7 devices can be supplied from the DCS bus in an apartment building, without an additional power supply to each home station being required.

During commissioning, the electrician can determine which functions are enabled for users. In a holiday apartment for example, the device could be programmed so that changes to the settings can only be made by the owner using a PIN, with tenants having no access to this. The same applies to rental premises held by residential housing companies.

The device is commissioned via the familiar push-button start-up function, or quickly, intuitively and conveniently using the Gira Project Assistant (GPA)

The SD card can be used to export recorded images, and conversely to import additional ringtones. There is also the option to back up the settings on an SD card, meaning that they will not have to be re-entered from scratch if the device is replaced. The electrician can also store his or her own contact details in the device in the form of a digital business card, so that users know whom they can contact.

The Gira surface-mounted video home station 7 is easy to install; it simply has to be placed onto the mounting plate, to which the connecting cable has already been attached
