Project description:

Nordhavn (in English: North Port) is an area of Copenhagen that in the last 6 years has been the protagonist of an ambitious urban recovery project: once an industrial port for cargo, today it has become a popular residential and commercial area, populated of fancy diners and urban spaces for over 40,000 new residents.

The municipality of Copenhagen has established a minimal visual impact for this area also for outdoor facilities, with the request of maintaining the clean style of buildings and urban furnishings.

For this reason, KE retailer Mr. Christof Steen from Gundsø Markiser A / S, suggested to the client, the installation of the KE Gennius VEGA pergola: its minimal design and the innovative led inserts fit to the Nordhavn district mix of Nordic and industrial style.

Minimal style and versatility of application combine with the resistance of materials and a pure approach to clean design: gutter and pillars are installed in the same line, are invisible, so are the joining brackets and screws.

Due to the Vertika Gennius system, the pergola can be integrated with lateral and frontal drop-down awnings. Vertika Gennius offers an extensive variety of fabrics (transparent, filtering and darkening) to meet any lighting requirement and wind /rain protection, an essential condition for restaurant guests who want to taste sushi and enjoy the view of the harbor.

Gennius Vega, designed by Robby Cantarutti, recently won the Archiproducts Design Award 2017 in the outdoor category.
