mafi Cubes & Boxes

The mafi Cubes and Boxes combine a sustainable and natural philosophy with modern wood finishing and innovative design. The completely paint-free and naturally oiled surface is extremely durable but also breathable and easy to clean with soap and water.

The sharp-edged cube shape of this side furniture was specifically chosen to counteract the rustic image of wood. The cube is a clear, unambiguous geometric shape. This clarity is interrupted by the living wood and gives off a feeling of security.

mafi PULSE as the flagship of the mafi furniture collection

The product name "Pulse" was inspired by two approaches. The first is how the cracks in the wood display a significant similarity to the fluctuations of pulse measurement on the ECG. The second is how the colour accents appear as veins that run through the wood – a nice connection to people.

Wood interacts with people - be it by cleaning the air, the feel when touched, the pleasant scent or the atmospheric compensation in rooms. A similar influence on people is achieved by different lighting conditions and moods. mafi Pulse establishes a symbiosis of these two factors, without losing the visual natural aspect of the wood. The varying light elements allow the cracks in the wood to shine in different colors and fluorescent modes and celebrate the wood as a living, inhomogeneous material.

mafi Boxes as hidden storage space

The mafi BOX can be opened quickly and closed just as easily, thanks to a high quality catch. The interior of the boxes provides plenty of storage space, be it for firewood or children''s toys. In commercial use, the mafi BOX is ideal mainly due to its robustness and universal application. Any seat cushions and blankets can be hidden away inside the box, which has proven particularly practical in bars and restaurants.
