Exploring the boundaries of processing NedZink NOVA

They only come along once in a while: modern construction projects that immediately stand out due to their original design

The extension of the house, built over a hundred years ago in the old Dorpsweg in Duiven, fits perfectly into this category. It's not only remarkable because of its clean-cut look, spacious built-in veranda and the sustainable materials used such as concrete, glass and white-stained red cedar wooden façade sections. But also because of the combination of NedZink NOVA used for the unique chimney, skylight and pointed roof. Meticulously installed by zinc master Elshof Metaaldak from Olst according to a design by the Amsterdam architects firm Studio Prototype. "Here we explored the boundaries when processing NedZink NOVA”, exclaims George Westgeest, director of Elshof Metaaldak. "Irregularities that you usually see in folded joints are nowhere to be seen here. The chimney virtually has no seams. Moreover the roof is full of details and there is no real ridge. Everything is cleanly folded; every single line was carefully studied. It is a fine masterpiece incorporating our years of knowledge and skill as a zinc master, and rightly so."
