NedZink NOVA: a definite eye-catcher

Since March 2015, three chic apartment buildings have occupied the Jozef Hebbelynckstraat in Belgian Merelbeke

They are built from white decorative concrete panels, vertical windows with anthracite-coloured window frames and a semi-rounded roof constructed from NedZink NOVA, with a number of integrated small dormer windows along its length. The project is a fine calling card for the zinc processer Verhoye-Dult from Wetteren. The rolls of NedZink NOVA, supplied by the Oostakker zinc supplier Deschacht, have been meticulously cut into sleek strips and made into semi-circular folds by Verhoye-Dult. Due to the original roof construction and the NedZink NOVA the spectator's eye is automatically drawn upwards. Thus the building acquires a stately and impressive posture that appears to be reaching towards the heavens. "We work exclusively with NedZink because of its high quality materials", reveals project manager Didier van Moorleghem from Deschacht. "For the Hebbelinck properties we opted for pre-weathered NedZink NOVA because the natural product already has a wonderful patina and will effortlessly cope with the ravages of time. What's more, NedZink NOVA can be combined with many other durable materials. We see that an increasing number of architects are choosing other NedZink products. We will soon start work on several new projects in Ghent that embody NedZink’s diversity."
