The stunning, warm patina of NedZink NOVA

Impressive

That's the word that springs to mind when you see the gable roof with its sleek vertical NedZink NOVA standing seam on the house in the Tarpanweg in Swifterbant (The Netherlands). Yet it is not excessive because of the aesthetic combination, the harmonious overhang and ingenious 'curve' in the ridge. They add an interesting and playful character to the roof. Fokkema & Partners Architects from Delft are responsible for the great design and zinc master Elshof Metaaldak from Olst took charge of the skilled process. "The NedZink NOVA gable roof is like a hat that extends around the rim", explains George Westgeest, director of Elshof Metaaldak. "Due to the 'curve' we technically adapted the NedZink NOVA standing seam and added horizontal connecting seams. It may be repetitive but it is done in such a way that it looks as though the zinc strips have been placed randomly on the roof. NedZink NOVA is pre-weathered zinc with a stunning, warm patina that can be perfectly combined with other natural materials such as wood and stone. That's its strength and often the reason why architects choose NedZink NOVA."
