NedZink NOVA turns the Middelburg library into a timeless treasure

NedZink NOVA in Middelburg

Zinc master company, Jobse Leidekker- en Restauratiebedrijf, has its offices in Middelburg, in the province of Zeeland (The Netherlands). In 2015, the company made its mark in its hometown by professionally renovating the roof of the library using NedZink NOVA vertical seams. The existing roof eaves and roof structures consisted of aluminium cladding with a coated layer. In addition to this, the tubular profiles were bolted into the connections with rubber seals. These profiles began to leak and got very filthy. This created leaks elsewhere. Moreover, drainage was done without using gutter structures. “In May of 2015, we started replacing this cladding with NedZink NOVA standing seams with a gutter structure,” says Robert de Hamer, Manager at Jobse. At the same time, we installed WBP cladding battens on the steel load-bearing structure and waterproof breather membrane. Galvanised steel strips were applied to the gutters, which were then covered with timber cladding. A ventilation structure of timber slats was installed over the gutters and the structures. The entire project was then clad with NedZink NOVA. A wonderful detail are the book-shaped drainage gutters. We are very proud that we were able to achieve this timeless project in our hometown.”
