A refined touch of exotic chic

Borneo collection

Borneo... a natural paradise, endless beaches, and a magnificent rainforest... the name of this island in southeast Asia, surrounded by clear blue water, probably meant at the origin “people of the seas”... This unique Omexco collection, ode to the joy of traveling, invites you to sail off to luxuriant vegetation and breath-taking flora.

Borneo offers rich and sumptuous colours and a mosaic of elegant natural materials, reflecting the beauty of the island. It combines precious products, handmade by skilled craftsmen, with ecological non-woven wallcoverings, matt and textured.

Omexco invites you to discover this tamed nature:

Bakbak, the dried outer part of the bark of the abaca plant (a species of banana), is carefully dried, dyed in superb colours, laminated on a non-woven backing and subsequently cut into strips. This sheet is finally patiently woven on handlooms. Raffia with metallic reflections is laminated on non-woven and then dyed with delicate touches of tone-on-tone pastels, or strokes of lacquered colours. This material reminds of the precious minerals, abundantly present on the isle, and also of the multicoloured stripes at the horizon, tinted by the changing daylight.

The range of colours comprises soft and natural shades as well as some stronger and deeper colours: sandy whites; walnut; chestnut; azurin; pastel and sugared almond blue; powder pink; sepia; tortoiseshell; verdigris; sage; mauve... You might even spot a touch of alizarin or garnet red.

The Borneo collection will sublimate your walls and provide a refined touch of exotic chic to your interior setting.

All references are supplied cut length, no minimum order. Width of the bakbak and the raffia wallcovering is respectively 110 cm and 91 cm, the printed non-woven wallcoverings are 100 cm wide. The non-woven wallcoverings are FSC® certified (mark of responsible forestry , licence code C001706), are made with recycled fibres, are printed thanks to solar energy, have a good light resistance, a European fire rating B S1 D0 as well as a marine certificate. They are washable and, contrary to vinyl, they are breathable, which means they can be used in humid climates or environments.
