Halve Maan in Bruges

Lighting a Half Moon

Concept & Interior by NOT BEFORE TEN | Lighting Design by ATOI | Photography by LENNERT DEPRETERRE

Marrying a brewery, museum and restaurant together, Bruges' Halve Maan takes visitors on a journey through the history behind Belgium's most important family in the beer industry. Lighting the path of this remarkable experience is ORBIT's Scenic Track.

While most of the current visual identity of the Halve Maan brewery stems from its restoration in 1997, it was in 2014 that the Maes family added another ingredient to the recipe. Focussing on innovation, their whole brewery and tavern was modified to reflect contemporary times, setting the standard for years to come.

It was in this moment that the lighting plan of this dim-lit location was due for an update. ORBIT's spots were spread across the room on our track rail, angled towards every table, assisting the already existing lighting plan and illuminating the place, creating a comfortable ambiance.

To get a better idea of how the Scenic Track influenced the overall lighting plan, the specifications of this luminaire below might provide some insights. Able to rotate 90 degrees and working with LED makes this installation both flexible and energy efficient. For more information on the project or the lighting included, please consult our website.
