“LEAVES”: artistic installation by Pietre di Rapolano for Ceramica Sant'Agostino at Cersaie 2016

Pietre di Rapolano, a company specialized in selecting travertine, stone and marble, designs “Leaves” an artistic installation for Ceramica Sant'Agostino during Cersaie fair 2016.

Pietre di Rapolano, which has always produced tiles, mosaic, bathroom furniture and travertine sinks, was named by the prestigious Ferrara-based company to design an installation in the booth dedicated to the new travertine-effect ceramic tiles, launched during the Cersaie fair in Bologna.

The materials used for this installation are the selections of the Zebra Collection: Zebra Black [PDR055], Zebra Silver Grey [PDR052], Zebra Dark [PDR042] Zebra Light [PDR040], Zebra Gold [PDR044] and Coral Pink [PDR079], and from Nuvolati collection, Terra Chiara [PDR013].

These refined selections, some vein cut, enhance the texture of the stone bringing out the typical linear and parallel veins of travertine.

"Leaves" consists of sculptural elements with organic forms that recall the structure and the characteristic veins of the leaves, creating a parallel with the veins of stone. The lightness of the carved elements is given by the treatment of travertine, which enhances the endless possibilities offered by natural stone.

"Leaves" will be presented at Cersaie, from september 26, during the launch of new TIPOS line inspired by travertine by Ceramica Sant'Agostino.

This project confirms the interest in natural stone, which has a value, a peculiarity and a unique aesthetic quality. The installation emphasizes the versatility of natural stone, suitable to produce a lot of home accessories, such as sinks, bathtubs, shower trays, staircases, fireplaces, in all the colors that Nature offer us.

Pietre di Rapolano for over 20 years produces artifacts in travertine, but also marble and other stones, with great attention to market demands and trying to balance the production tradition with innovation.
