Exceptional terrariums for a small daily dose of zen
We were rather ambivalent about terrariums…actually, we’re still rather ambivalent about terrariums, but 10¹² TERRA is the exception. Designed by Daisuke Tsumanuma and Kenichi Yamada, the minimal glass frames strip branches, leaves and flowers down to their roots – which is precisely what makes them interesting. The clutter and kitsch of traditional terrariums is removed to focus exclusively on one plant, root to tip. Adding to the ethereal appeal, each plant is suspended above water as if floating. And they are apparently very low maintenance, which gives us notorious plant killers a glimmer of hope.
