EXTREME STUNT TAPESTRY BY STATUE

A new tapestry to debut at Art Paris Art Fair 2014

Romain Guillet and Louise de Saint Angel, the Parisian duo behind STATUE, use design to reinvent objects and spaces in unexpected ways. They chose STATUE as both the name of their design studio and as their mascot due to its architectural, artistic, decorative and epic attributes. The pair often takes antiquated objects and profoundly revives them.

Despite their acoustic and thermal insulating properties, tapestries represent a particularly outdated decorative object, but STATUE uses colorful polyester on a felt background to create a contemporary interpretation. The woven pattern of polyester creates puzzle-like patterns and images that are perfectly at home in a modern setting. Their latest tapestry, Extreme Stunt, will be presented at Art Paris Art Fair, which is taking over the Grand Palais from March 27th to March 30th.
