MODERN DESIGN MANUFACTURING: INCIPIT

An Italian design lab that takes a different approach to manufacturing

Not a run-of-the-mill design manufacturer, Incipit chooses to be defined as a training laboratory or as a workshop that supports young designers in their craft. Similar to organizations such as VIA in France, Incipit’s ultimate goal is to give designers a chance to succeed by supporting them through the entire process.

Initiated by Roberto Hoz and Marta Bernstein in 2013, Incipit uses modern tools of the trade, such as crowdfunding, to manufacture and distribute products, helping designers find their place in the populous design market. The official premier of Incipit’s first collection will be at Ventura Lambrate 2014 during Milan Design Week. The collection includes objects from three young designers: Tommaso Caldera, Ilaria Innocenti and Philippe Tabet.
