SET architects wraps steel-framed installation with black cloth

sitting inside the ceramic company florim’s flagship store in the heart of milan, SET architects’ ‘ALBUM BFF016’ installation won a competition promoted by florim4architects.

realized and displayed during milan design week, the temporary installation is defined by two components: its free-standing steel structure and the biodegradable jute black cloth used throughout; both of these elements can be reproduced, versatile and is durable.the steel frame is composed of easy to assemble modular elements due to its bolt-less design that allows maximum flexibility. visualized as a house-shaped typology, photographs of the azerbaijan pavilion from the EXPO 2015 are displayed within. the wings created by the steel structure encourages exploration and ways to interact with the space.

the black jute cloth wraps the installation – delineating five distinct exhibition areas with ten photographs distributed among these intimate spaces. as well as acting as a support for the exhibition of images, the fabric produces a checquered pattern, which consists of a modular grid of 1 square-meter spaces.
