WORKSTEAD PRESENTS NEW ORBIT SERIES

A range of lighting that celebrates the celestial

Workstead is a New York-based design studio founded by Stefanie Brechbuehler and Robert Highsmith in 2009. The studio takes on projects that range from interior design to art and installations to industrial design. At last month’s ICFF, the studio presented a new lighting collection called Orbit.

Made from high quality materials such as brass and marble, the series offers two different height table lamps, a wall sconce and a pendant light. The lamps are available with one or two spun brass dishes that orbit around the naked bulb much like planets orbiting around the sun.

The brass dishes catch the light and act as reflectors. Depending on the direction at which they are turned, they change the intensity and direction of the light. The table top version comes in two different heights and is available with a Carrara, Green Marble or Travertine base. All of the models are currently available on Workstead’s online shop.
