AVO JOINS FORCES WITH LADIES & GENTLEMEN STUDIO

An extremely compatible East/West coast collaboration that was presented at New York Design Week

Some may argue that bi-coastal relationships never last, but AVO and Ladies & Gentlemen Studio have made it work. L&G Studio even recently opened a new studio in Brooklyn this month! Clearly, it’s love. It also can’t hurt that AVO’s founder Brit Kleinman is a California native and is already fluent in the ways of the West.

Kleinman established the Brooklyn-based design studio in 2014, creating a series of hand-painted leather rugs and pillows that reflects her unique cross-cultural curiosity. Simultaneously, almost three thousand miles away, Ladies & Gentlemen Studio was busy at work in their Seattle-based atelier where the duo originally established their studio and created their playful-yet-elegant designs. To make a long story short, L&G Studio’s easy-going Ovis chairs seemed a perfect canvas for AVO’s handcrafted leather work and a bi-coastal collaboration was born.

Presented at the Sight Unseen Offsite, the leather Ovis Series features AVO’s hand-painted leather patterns adorning the simple frame of the Ovis lounge chair and suspended in the Ovis hanging chair. The chairs were presented alongside a variety of new products from L&G Studio as well as AVO’s signature rugs.
