LUUR DESIGN CREATES THE MODERN FRIENDSHIP BRACELET

A multidisciplinary design studio spotted at the Sight Unseen Offsite

Hey! An American design studio that’s actually not based in Brooklyn! We’re shocked/thrilled. Even more so because this particular design studio is a fellow Hoosier, and the name of their studio perfectly lends itself to a good pun. LUUR Design is a multidisciplinary design studio under the direction of Christopher Stuart and based in Carmel, Indiana.

For this year’s New York City Design Week, the studio showed its work at the much-lauded Sight Unseen Offsite along with a slew of other extremely talented and carefully curated designers. Particularly popular were LUUR’s North/South bracelets. Made from Corian and held together with magnets, the geometric pieces can be swapped and even shared with friends.

The studio also showed their deliciously minimal UBench which is made from rolled and welded blackened steel.

Other products included a series of plaster vases with an urban vibe, a modular side table and trivets with a moiré effect. All of the studio’s work plays with geometry while contrasting materials in a resulting visual harmony that is simple but effective. Check out more of their super cool designs below.
