ZZ DESIGN PRESENTS A NEW KIND OF STACKING CHAIR

The Power Chair's bold lines stand on their own, but can be easily stacked away

Stacking chairs. The unsung hero of hotel ballrooms and school auditoriums everywhere. But stacking chairs often fade into the background, become part of the scenery. They fulfil their perfunctory duties and are then carefully stacked away. But Chinese designer Mario Tsai of ZZ Design has created a stacking chair that stands out from the crowd. Aptly named Power Chair, the design is a combination of bold geometric lines and softly curved wood. The triangular legs create a powerful silhouette that firmly grounds the chair and makes it desirable in its own right, even without stacking. The ability to stack simply becomes the unexpected benefit of an otherwise elegantly designed seat.
