Be prepared to fall headfirst for this up-and-coming Danish design brand
Something about Nordic design makes us go weak at the knees. We can’t help it. Although an unassuming category of design with its honest elegance and lack of fuss, that blond wood just gets our heart racing. Therefore, when Woud popped onto our radar, we were instantly enamored.
For their first collection, the Danish design manufacturer called upon some of Denmark’s freshest faces and rising talents such as NUR and Says Who. Rooted in the Nordic design aesthetic that we love, each piece has a twinkle of innovation that makes the collection atypical. Take, for example, the Töjbox by Danish studio Made by Michael. A simple storage solution, its playful proportions turn what could quickly be an ordinary object into something unique and eye-catching.
Spant Studio’s AA Desk is another example. The otherwise simple A-frame desk has an integrated light and an architectural structure that make it unusually charming. We won’t even mention Says Who’s Peppy Chair, which currently looks like the perfect place for a nice, long nap.
Fortunately for us, the brand will be strutting their stuff at IMM Cologne next week as well as at next month’s Stockholm Furniture Fair. We are looking forward to checking out the goods in person (and we’ll keep our delighted squeals to a minimum).
