HEDDA TORGERSEN’S BOO LAMPS

A friendly, humanlike lamp on display at 100% Norway

You were probably looking for your new best friend. Well, you’re in luck. We’ve found it. Hedda Torgersen’s BOO lamps.

Looking more like friendly companions than household lighting fixtures, the Boo Lamps could easily find a spot in your house. In fact, they look like they might get up and walk straight out the door. In time, you may even find yourself calling them by name and telling them your troubles, but don’t worry, we won’t tell. And unlike more traditional house pets, BOO is meant to last.

A young designer in the final year of her master’s at the Bergen Academy in Norway, Torgersen designed the lamps with precisely the intention of sparking an emotional attachment with the user. She also designed the lamps to be practical and durable in addition to adorable. The lamp shades are available in porcelain or Corian and can turn 360 degrees, while the legs can be folded flat. This means that the entire lamp can be flat-packed and ready to use straight from the box.

BOO was presented at the Greenhouse exhibition during the Stockholm Furniture Fair this past February and is currently participating in 100% Norway during the London Design Festival.
