TRANSATLANTIC TALENT: AVANDI STUDIO

A fresh design talent spotted at Paris Design Week

Belgian-born designer Ariane van Dievoet is a girl who clearly knows what she wants and where she’s going. Having graduated with a Masters from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2013, she established Avandi Studio at the beginning of 2014 and is already a design finalist for Martha Stewart’s American Made Awards!

Currently based in Brooklyn, New York, the young designer’s objects are conceived in-house and manufactured by local companies. The playful, versatile pieces adapt to any environment, adding a bright and unique touch.

Particular standouts from the current collection are Candlestix, a series of stackable, spun brass candle holders, and Adaptable, a triangular table that comes in two different heights as well as a variety of colors and materials, making it easy to stack and rearrange as needed. We also appreciate the Steptool, which gives vertically challenged users a stylish boost.

We spotted Avandi at Paris Design Week, but if you’re headed to the London Design Festival this week, the studio is continuing its European tour at Tent London. Don’t miss it!

The Teepee Coat Stand is easily taken apart and can be used to hold your coins, glasses, keys, coat and more.
