DESIGN CRUSH: PETITE FRITURE

The latest from one of our favorite French design brands

We’re not even sure if we can consider Petite Friture a real crush anymore. It’s more like full-blown love. With each new collection, the French design brand continues to select quirky-yet-totally-desirable furniture, lighting and accessories that have us mentally renovating our home.

And we’re not the only ones in love. Their stand at Maison & Objet was absolutely flooded, and with good reason. Joining their latest collection are two absolute media darlings: Constance Guisset’s Nubilo Sofa and Hana Ernsting’s Pet Stools.

A plethora of pillows with different shapes and textures turn Guisset’s Nubilo sofa into a veritable cloud for your living room. The brand reinforced the seating with extra mousse and introduced a neutral pallet that is reminiscent of a stormy day.

Ella, Daisy and Fin are three foot-warming companions designed by Hana Ernsting. Their owners probably just think of these guys as their new best friends.

The 2014 collection also includes a trio of geometric cork tables by Arthur Leitner that owe their success to their utter simplicity, relying on natural materials and pure forms rather than artifice.

As for accessories, Mark Braun designed the Join terracotta collection, a set of stackable cups, bowls and more that are accented with colorful enamel. We love the contrast is created between the matte terracotta and the colorful, shiny enamel. A minimal clock by Milia Seyppel, a porcelain piggy bank called Wild Car by Pierre Favresse and several new pillow designs also graced the collection.

Maison & Objet may be over until January, but all of the objects will soon be available on Petite Friture’s website. Until then, you can plan where you’re going to place your brand-new Pet.
