EPIFORMA’S MEANWHILE CURIOSITIES

Products from a Portuguese design studio that encourage play and interaction

Being an adult can be really boring. And monotonous. And tiresome. That’s probably why it’s so exciting when designers come along with products that blur the line between function and fun. With the Meanwhile Curiosities collection, Porto-based design studio Epiforma has created an entire collection of objects that jump between play and work.

The collection turns functional archetypes upside down by introducing unexpected shapes and bright colors to familiar household objects. Binary, a vase and candle holder, is a series of stackable shapes that, depending on their arrangement, serve different purposes. It can even just be stacked together and kept as decoration! The Stackable Desk and Stackable Beauty function much like Binary, serving a functional purpose but with an element of play. Completing the collection are a set of dominoes without dots, a closed magnetic container to which you have to uncover the hidden key and a sideboard that looks much like a cart going to market.

All of the objects are handcrafted and designed by Portuguese manufacturers using quality materials such as black granite, carrara marble, solid oak, solid ash and steel.

Magnetica Box by Epiforma can only be opened using the tiny magnetic key that is hidden in the side of the box.
