Unique woven art from a Los Angeles-based couple
Despite what their name might imply, Brook&Lyn is not based in Brooklyn. Sorry to disappoint. However, the company was formed in New York in 2009 before Mimi Jung and Brian Hurewitz relocated to Los Angeles. The couple’s interests ranges from ceramics to wooden furniture with a splash of other projects, but we are here today to talk about their weavings.
Yes, you read that right. Brook&Lyn weaves artistic wall hangings out of cotton, wool and even Levi’s denim scraps. The result is a satisfying minimalism that we can’t resist.
