DESIGN CRUSH: DAMM DESIGN
A crushworthy lighting collection from an American design studio
We’re relatively certain that most people would find working with their spouse to be a difficult affair, which is why we have to tip our hats to Robert and Brenda Zurn at DAMM Design. Married for almost two decades, the pair has not only made their marriage work, but they’ve also created an absolutely loveable lighting collection.
DAMM (Design. Art. Means. Motive.) represents the studio’s design philosophy which is motivated by art and expressed by design with a healthy dose of line crossing between. Using quality materials, all of their products are designed and manufactured in their studio. They also do bespoke pieces and limited editions, including the Hector lamp that was sold exclusively on L’Arco Baleno.
Different influences permeate the collection, combining contemporary urban influences with elegant materials and forms and a healthy dose of color. We are particularly fond of the heroic whimsy of the Artemis lamp quite tickles our fancy. Not that we are picking favorites. We love all of our design crushes equally.
