A pendant lamp that makes the dark side look very tempting

Featured as part of the Wallpaper *Handmade 2013 exhibition, Øyvind Wyller’s In Darkness pendant lamp is the product of a collaboration between the Norwegian designer and Magnor Glassverk. The Vader-esque lampshade is made from handcrafted glass and leather straps. A bulb is then suspended from a fabric-coated cord and allowed to float freely in the darkness of the lampshade. The lustrous glass is almost opaque and acts as a filter which dims the light and outlines the bulb, adding an element of form to the bulb’s function.
