REK BOOKCASE JUNIOR BY REINIER DE JONG

A design bookcase for children

If technology tends to replace good old books in the minds of teenagers, our little ones are still very fond of things they can touch, play with…and then throw on their bedroom floor. When this happenened to Dutch designer Reinier de Jong, it didn’t take him long to figure out a way to manage the issue while keeping aesthetics in mind. Scaling down his original REK bookcase, de Jong created the junior version of his original idea so that his son could enjoy the beautiful design as well. According to the space available, the five parts composing the REK bookcase junior can be pushed in or pulled out in a mesmerizing way. When you think about this playful concept and its funny design, you start realizing this bookshelf might have been created for kids in the first place.
