An innovative designer taking on important industry issues
As one of the first designers to print large-scale objects, you can pretty much assume that Dirk Vander Kooij‘s work is highly innovative. For DDW 2013, the Dutch designer is launching his Recycling2 Collection, a series that tackles sustainability and waste in the manufacturing process. The collection includes the Chubby Coat Hanger, the Left Over table and the Changing vase, all of which are made from materials left over from the manufacturing of his other products. The concept is extremely relevant and the result is irreproducible. Vander Kooij will also be displaying a new Babylon chair and a 3-meter-high, LED-lit vase.
