Ora is a geometric celebration of color and material

Montreal-based designer Zoë Mowat initially wanted to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a sculptor, a simple fact puts her work into sharper focus. Colorful, textured and geometric, her creations toe the line between art and design. The Ora Side Table, for example, inserts elements of art into a functional product. Appealing to our love of order, the table’s clean, minimal shapes seem perfectly in place, while a pristine glass table top creates a see-through storage area that highlights the sculptural arrangement of the materials underneath. Ora currently exists in two varieties, although we must admit a particular penchant for the brass version with its artistic contrast of marble veins, lustrous brass and matte wood – contrasts that also exist in the complementary Ora Mirrors.
