façade made of glass fibre concrete in vintage design

a special surface by Rieder

A new, exclusive residential ensemble was built on an area of 3,000 square meters in the Kirchberger Reithergasse in Tyrol. The "rr55" residences include four different buildings in a sophisticated design. The envelope of the building on the ground floor was constructed from concrete skin by Rieder. The dark glass fibre concrete panels contrast with the wood panelling on the upper floors. The special feature of the 13 mm thin anthracite façade is the "vintage" surface developed by Rieder. It gives the residences a unique appearance.

Inspired by the Japanese Wabi Sabi concept of aesthetics and the true beauty of natural raw materials, a surface has been developed that showcases the true material character and brings it to life in the form of "refined nature". A new production technology allows Rieder to give the panels back their characteristic concrete surface with an interplay of colour shades and cloud effects. The natural imperfection and irregularity in the appearance of the vintage panel gives the façade a unique appearance and, above all, individuality since no one panel is like another. The combination of old craft and new knowledge finds expression in this new surface, together with a quest for simplicity and naturalness. The focus on the essentials and the visual randomness create the charm of the vintage surface.
