Waterproofing of the ramp of the "Alcazar" parking area in Beausoleil

The steep gradient of the ramp and the fact that the parking area was subject to heavy traffic called for renovation with a high-performance liquid applied waterproofing system. The contracting firm STS recommended to the administrator of the complex and the architect the only waterproofing system on the market with a ready-to-use, non-slip mortar as the wearing layer: the Triflex ProPark system with Triflex Cryl M 264 wearing layer.

Before waterproofing, the concrete surface was abraded using a grinder with diamond wheel. MMA resins were used for all the layers of the new system. They have two advantages: the methacrylate has extremely short curing times and the overall system has a long life.

After the primer was applied, the upturns were waterproofed with the fleece-reinforced Triflex ProDetail. Then the fleece-reinforced Triflex ProPark waterproofing was applied to the level surface, less than 20 minutes after priming with Triflex ProDetail. This full-surface fleece-reinforced waterproofing layer offers outstanding resistance to static and dynamic loads acting on the concrete structure.

After a layer of Triflex Cryl Finish 205 in beige was applied, the Triflex Cryl M 264 wearing layer followed. It is the only ready-to-use, non-slip mortar with an extremely high abrasion-resistance available on the market. To facilitate water drainage on the ramp, the Triflex Cryl M 264 surface, in "Traffic grey", was divided into lanes using adhesive tapes. The tapes were removed after the non-slip mortar had been applied, resulting in a colour contrast with the beige layer Triflex Cryl Finish 205. The ramp blends very well into its surroundings.

At the top of the ramp, on the horizontal part, a protective layer of Triflex ProPark was applied to the waterproofing layer, which was subsequently sand-blasted and given a coloured finish.
