Origami by Tubes is among the projects selected by the curators of DESIGN.VE

Tubes Radiatori

Tubes, Italian company famous for its designer radiators, has been chosen with its Origami radiator by the

curators of DESIGN.VE, the event that will bring Venice to life from 23rd May, in parallel with the first month of the International Architecture Exhibition.

Origami free-standing, the renowned electric plug&play radiator selected for the 2017 edition of the ADI Design Index, will be on display as part of the main collective exhibition, core of the entire festival, organised at Palazzo Morosini Gatterburg, under the concept and title of Design After Darwin. Adapted to Adaptability.

Origami, designed by Alberto Meda for Tubes, ties in perfectly with the curatorial theme of the exhibition and its four conceptual filters - multiplicity, reconfiguration, re-use and transfiguration - owing to its versatility, transportability, adaptability to different settings and ability to transform them, as well as its dimensional flexibility, which is possible thanks to the manufacturing expertise of Tubes and to the use of aluminium extrusion technology.

A poetic, sinuous, jointed and flexible item of interior décor, Origami therefore makes it possible to give rise to different product types based on a rounded module alternating hollow parts with its heating core. When used as a folding screen, it can be folded as required to form changing shapes, liaising with its surroundings, offering the possibility of separating two rooms, of preserving privacy and of enhancing the atmosphere of confidentiality.

With DESIGN.VE, Tubes returns to Venice on the occasion of a Biennale, after its participation in the 2015 Biennale with add-On and Kangeri designed by Satyendra Pakhalé as part of the International Art Exhibition within the research-exhibition that the Venice Pavilion (Gardens), curated by Aldo Cibic, dedicated to the "art of know-how", and after its involvement in Venice Design in 2016, concurrently with the 15th Venice Architecture Biennale, again with a project by Satyendra Pakhalé
