In this way, harmony and balance can be brought to bathrooms, combined with the resistance of the CONCRETE porcelain tile collection by URBATEK, with unique end results where every single detail reflects the very essence of minimalism.

Basically, the concept behind minimalism in interior design is to create living spaces with as few components as possible through a carefully analysed use of volumes. The aim is to create clean-lined interiors that stand out for their skilful proportions and exquisitely elegant surface materials.

All the volumes, textures and different components combine to form a whole ensemble, with this taking priority over all the various parts, because what takes pride of place is the actual living space.

In such situations, there is a clear preference for uncluttered spaces in neutral colours, reflecting total harmony and balance. “Less is more,” in the words of Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe: a phrase that became a slogan for early 20th century avant-garde architecture.

This was the premise behind the creation of the TONO bathroom furniture collection by PORCELANOSA Grupo, designed in collaboration with the prestigious design studio Foster+Partners. This comprehensive carefully coordinated bathroom furniture collection, presented at CERSAIE 2016, stands out for its elegance, simplicity and functionality, with high quality standards that extend to even the tiniest of details.

Surface materials and light play a key role in linking furniture in with the architectural setting. To achieve this, it is essential to coordinate all the materials so as to ensure a harmonious ensemble.

Pale-coloured woods and cement looks will be all the rage in bathrooms in 2017. Given this new trend, our most luminous design proposal is to combine furniture from the TONO collection in a maple finish with beige cement-effect floor tiles from the CONCRETE collection, with its wide variety of patterns conceived to add a subtle dynamism to surfaces.

In this way, harmony and balance can be brought to bathrooms, combined with the resistance of the CONCRETE porcelain tile collection by URBATEK, with unique end results where every single detail reflects the very essence of minimalism.
