Cavana Ametista Centerpiece

A "cavana" is a shelter for small boats. This aquatic space inside the Venetian palaces is used to receive people directly at home and to moor the boats indoors. They are typical of the city and of the Venice lagoon.

We create this elegant hollow-shaped centerpiece with different shades of colored transparent glass, precious silver leaves and Murrine Veneziane to remember the different boat shelters that enrich the Venetian palaces.

The procedure for creating this centerpiece is very complex and laborious. The first step is to compose the color sequence, while the second is to create the shape. This is made with the mosaic technique using Murano glass with a combination of colors: black, ivory, light and medium amethyst, mixed with silver leaves and Murrine Veneziane. Very small square or rectangular multicolored glass blocks are cut and joined together meticulously. This beautiful object is made entirely by hand by our fantastic team, which means that you will get the most amazing glass object you could wish for.
