FLAMINGO: Deconstructing the hanging lamp

“It all started with the need to come up with an ambient light where normally the effect is achieved using traditional shades, but using a point source of light, an almost aggressive source such as a LED.

This approach results in an ethereal effect, we managed to take the lamp apart. Through this decomposition or more accurately deconstruction we also found ways of coming up with multiple combinations which would have been unthinkable at the outset,” elaborates Arola.

Through this exquisite deconstructive process FLAMINGO combines functionality with a poetic appearance, radiating light and reconfiguring its constituent elements in a new way.

The result is a versatile light fitting which lends itself to multiple compositions, by separating the light source from the shade a more attenuated light can be achieved which is perfect for creating atmospheres whether it be for the home or other spaces where creating an atmosphere is important.

The diffuser is manufactured of translucent thermoplastic material. The cable becomes invisible as it is an integral part of the composition and allows the various elements to be aligned freely, producing lighting compositions that architects and interior designers can easily fit into different projects.
