After considering several options together with the client Accoya® windows were specified by Vorstermans Architects. They settled on Accoya because the benefits (class 1 durability and stability) outweighed the additional cost. All of the windows were replaced and were double-glazed.

The Accoya wood was supplied by Timspec, Accoya distributor in New Zealand.

Oakleigh Custom Woodworks manufactured the windows using Accoya wood for the replacement of the high church windows. Knowing that the building’s 50-year-old existing windows had rotted out, Oakleigh’s approach was to look at the total lifetime cost of the new windows, rather than the first cost of acquisition.
