“This new aquatic center is labeled HQE thanks to the efficient solutions chosen to complete the project, associating high acoustic, thermal and energy management performances.” Says Pierre Lainé, Construction Project Manager from the Montpellier-based Coste Architecture branch.

This new construction will open to the public this next September. All participants in this project with the city of Montpellier are at work to present a new structure up to the HQE standards and blending in the city environment design and spirit.

Coste Architecture, project manager and aquatic/thalassotherapy centers specialist, is composed of fifteen employees located in the North of France and a second branch with twelve people in Montpellier (South of France). This branch is the one who realized this project alongside partners like Structure Verdier, Fluide Tual and Acoustique Vivié & Associés design offices.

On the roof of the building, everything has been designed specifically up to the HQE standards. 7 different types of tightness have been installed with different double layer sealings depending on their localization like cellular glass on the part with high humidity, polyurethane for the administration and lockers rooms, or expanded polystyrene for the hall.

Bluetek skylights have been installed on the roof. 3 Bluesteel Fix of dimensions 130 X 130 and 110 X 110 for the natural lighting, 2 smoke extraction Bluesteel RPT Pneu of dimensions 110 X 110 cm with electric actuator for natural ventilation of the lockers, 1 Bluesteel Pass 100 X 100 cm with roof access griddle, all part of the Bluesteel RPT Inside range with Screen-Dome (thermal broken upstand with triple-glazed infill and exterior sunshades) range. Most of the upstands have special heights with slope adjustment and white lacquer on the inside.

This certified equipment complies with smoke extraction requirements for this type of building, and efficient energy management requirements with high performance solutions for natural ventilation and lighting of the premises while reducing direct sunrays effects.

As a conclusion, Bluetek skylights are totally complying with HQE certification in regards of energy, security and comfort management required, while providing an aesthetic solution for both the interior or exterior of the building.
