AMBIVALENZ furnishes Hotel Rossi with flexible furniture solutions

Ambivalenz, the Berlin-based label for space-saving design, now offers additional living and working comfort in the rooms of the Hotel Rossi in Berlin.

Space-saving furniture such as the Fläpps System expand the potential of rooms with small space and are increasingly in demand, especially in furnishing places for temporary living. Since the borders between living and working are also becoming increasingly blurred, flexible workplaces offer added value: foldable wall desks for example can be used as seating or standing desks and achieve maximized functionality in a minimum of space.

The Hotel Rossi in Berlin is an initiative of the SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. and was designed by the Berlin based architects ludloff+ludloff. The social project, conceived as an „embassy for children", combines a public hotel area with meeting and event areas as well as rooms for professional counselling, qualification and training.

"As a conference hotel, the Rossi is above all a place where new ideas are being worked on. The idea of integrating additional work areas in the hotel rooms was born, so that a space-saving, flexible and at the same time aesthetically pleasing solution was required. The Fläpps system from Ambivalenz immediately convinced us in these points", says managing director Kirsten Spiewack.

With Fläpps, Ambivalenz has designed a sophisticated, minimalist furnishing system that is very discreet but still an eye-catcher. Fläpps can be a flexible bookcase, a sitting or standing workstation, a discreet breakfast table, a practical shelf or a just beautiful decorative object. Each Fläpps module is an stand-alone piece of furniture such as a wall shelf, a desk, a wardrobe or a table. Combined, the modules can form a multifunctional wall system for all areas of living, working and hosting and are thus the perfect complement to the interior design of the hotel.

Besides the Hotel Rossi, Ambivalenz has been furnishing other hotels such as the Landhotel Herrmann in Wirsberg, the Hôtel Hors Les Lumieres in Paris or the Hôtel Les Charmettes in Saint-Malo. An overview of all furnishing projects and the products of Ambivalenz can be found at www.ambivalenz.org.
