Determining design and energy efficiency of buildings — exceptionel solutions for claddings with Texo® System

The patented Texo® System is basically a well known acquaintance: used in exhibition stand construction and shopfitting, the tenter frame was perfected for outside use and claddings. For the beholder it is „only“ an impressive design element, but in case it serves as an energetic light and heat modulating system.

This highly flexible system can be used for new as well as for existing buildings to refresh them and giving them a new contemporary character. You can easily change the covering to give the building a new facade without constructional working. The extremly light weight compound made of extruded aluminum profile and prestressed textile surface has only small requirements onto the load capacity of the underconstruction, it is a dry-building system with little effort on the construction because the main configuration is made in the factory. The unique solution to give tension on the membrane has the advantage that you only need a facadebuilder instead of a construction builder. This raises the efficiency of the assembling team and shortens the assembling time substantially.

The Texo® System is very easy to handle: with the help of a silicone elastomer a textile membrane gets stretched into a prefabricated aluminum profile. The silicone elastomer works like a buffer against wind. So Texo® will not lose its tension for years and will stay climate consistent for a delectable long time.

The textile membranes are resistant against dirt as well. The manufacturer promises a durability from 15 to 35 years, according to the equipment and which kind of the system is used. All textile membranes are conform to all standards required for fire behaviour. Standard membranes are made of polyester, silicone, fibreglas or E.T.F.E foil and all can get digital printed.

All aluminum profiles are adjusted to the current object and real roundings are no problem. The only limit is the production size of the used textile. Furthermore you can work with textile membranes from different manufacturers: the „Luna Rossa“-teambase in Valencia for example was completely changed into a translucent high-tech facade by using 9000 sqm of old sails.

The advantage of the system in view of the energy efficiency of a building is clearly therein, that the design giving elements are in front of the wall, so that they effect a substantial cooling load reduction.
