Residential area “Grand Large”
External thermal insulation with Reynolux pre-painted aluminium
External thermal insulation as part of the construction of 50 dwellings at the seafront.
Inserted between the city and the sea the Grand Large district in Dunkerque has been designed to combine seaside resort aesthetic and port aesthetic, typological variation and collective spaces.
Its strategic urban plan is based on social, environmental and economic aspects. The Grand Large district comprising 50 dwellings located on the seafront marks the second phase of the project whose main objective is sustainable development.
For the external thermal insulation the responsible partner Myral relied on M32 panels consisting of thermal insulation mousse PIR, PVC edges, a vapour barrier and Reynolux® coil-coated aluminium for the exterior claddings. Using a weatherboard installation on the first layer of the isolation
material polystyrene TH32 of 120 mm this cladding provides an overall thermal resistance of 5.14 W/m²K.
The smooth and matte white finishing evokes a modern and stylish appearance. Thus Reynolux® pre-painted aluminium used for the panels of Myral is not only very attractive, but also makes the apartments being well insulated, efficient and comfortable for the residents.
