The Perrone Campus, part of the University of Eastern Piedmont, is located in what was once a barracks. The core of the building dates to the end of the nineteenth century, and today acts as a gateway between the historic center and the modern-day city. Comprising a metal structure 120 meters long and 18 meters wide, it includes a library, great hall, lecture halls, canteen, study hall, student dorms and commercial activities. With this project, Aresline and Contract Design Network have developed a new concept of education. The classrooms, furnished with Omnia Evolution seating, are interconnected to allow for an increase in available space. Thanks to the streaming system, class can be attended over the university network, even from outside the pavilion. From the custom-built podium, the teacher can control the whole audio-visual system of the hall through an integrated control panel with touchscreen monitor.
