Kabira, total wood look for spring 2017

Metal and wood blend together, intertwining in an interplay, where the solid coating sometimes hides sometimes gives a glimpse of the steel soul of the chair or stool.

Kabira’s chair can be combined with a steel frame in the following versions, slide, cantilever and four legs or in the spider and home-office aluminium frame versions. The fixed height stool is available with 4 legs. In the version with ashwood frame.

Kabira Bay, famous cove of Ishigaki island and optimal observation point for gatherings of manta rays, gives its name to this seating collection designed by Kensaku Oshiro. The shapes of Kabira take inspiration from the smooth and charming floating of those “large flying fish” in dances above and below the sea surface. The designer, just like a true alchemist, translates the engaging and somehow reconciling lines in a new and versatile seating for the contract market. Kabira collection consists in chairs and stools with plywood ashwood shell, painted or upholstered.
