Lux and Vinum is the new brand of Atena Lux, an Italian company with 25 years of experience in the development and production of high-tech and quality lighting fixtures. Our experience in the lighting sector, combined with our passion for wine, has led us to study light solutions free of wavelengths below 523nm, suitable therefore to solve in a natural and definitive way the problem of “taste of light”.

Light plays a fundamental role in the transformation process of wine, from the birth of the grape to its refining and maturation, changing its biological structure and, therefore, its taste and aroma. As in all romantic relationships, balances are fundamental and if not taken into account can cause pain.

The “taste of light” is, in fact, a problem that affects white and rosé wines and that changes the Colour, the aroma and above all the taste, giving the wine a flavor of boiled cabbage or wet wool, to quote examples. This problem is caused by storing bottles in poor lighting: wavelengths of the light spectrum below 523nm, including UV and blue, have been scientifically proven to cause wine damage. The result of our tests is a pleasant amber-orange light, a particular high quality LED that has led to the birth of a specific line of lighting systems. A wide and complete range of luminaires that are practical and decorative at the same time, which protect wine from photobiological risks in work, storage and marketing areas.
