BertO and Design-Apart Manhattan together organized a design workshop to identify the components of the “ideal sofa” for the residents of NY. The event involved 10 international designers who worked collectively for an entire weekend at the Design-Apart loft showroom in Manhattan.
The final design was selected then the best Italian artisans of the Brianza made a prototype.
This prototype of the sofa was shipped disassembled in its various component parts and put together during a day of collective production, known as “crowdcrafting”, where designers, participating guests, future clients and the artisans themselves re-assemble the first collectively designed and produced “Sofa4Manhattan”.
Today the Sofa4Manhattan has become a collection with an almost infinite variety of modular elements that can be modified and personalized.
