Interior Design by Wilkinson Beven

The interior design brief for this Luxury Ski Chalet was to create a highly comfortable mountain retreat, suitable for family winter ski holidays and entertaining. Designed by Wilkinson Beven and providing 580 sq. meters of living, dining and bedroom spaces, each room has bespoke design features and carefully selected finishes.

Stunning in either modern or classic halls and a great addition to any room decoration, Infinity console by Boca do Lobo, a fascinating and exclusive piece, proven to be impressive and eye-catching through its sinuous and elegant lines. This prodigious piece has a striking geometric mosaic wood veneer top and a copper leaf base finished with high gloss varnish.

In the principal open-plan living and dining room, a contemporary fireplace takes center stage. Rich fabric tones and dark timber hues contrast with the paler wall and floor finishes, creating an elegant and sumptuous entertaining space.

Hand-crafted detailing relates directly to the chalet’s mountain location, where specialist, artisan trades are still utilized to achieve very high-quality finishes. A stone-topped occasional table has a hand-finished appearance whilst being sophisticated and timeless in style.

A sense of theatre and a reference to our client’s admiration for Deco design influenced the brief for this home cinema. This is a room in which to relax and be entertained in sumptuous comfort! Bespoke wall paneling, with fluted Deco motifs, together with upholstered furniture finished in rich, warm tones, inject a mood of luxury and drama. Original Hollywood studio black and white photographic portraits from the 30s and 40s imbue the space with a mood of glamorous nostalgia, albeit in a very up-to-date home cinema environment.

The basement of the chalet features a relaxing spa facility that includes a swimming pool, steam and sauna facilities, along with a gym and tranquil massage room. Here, the mood of the space is defined by a sense of cool, chilly luxury! Natural materials reflect the rugged mountain setting, whilst refined surfaces and textures reflect the warmer accent tones, which imbue the space with color and sparkling contrasts between snowy whites and warm, mellow golds. If over-exertion isn’t on the agenda, then welcomingly soft sofas afford poolside lounging space adjacent to a large-screen TV.
